Blood River is where Boer settlers and the Zulu army fought on 16 December 1838, now a public holiday in South Africa. The battlefield is marked by a laager of 64 life-sized bronze wagons. Fugitives' Drift runs guided trips here on request, priced per vehicle for up to 12 guests, and it can be combined with the Prince Imperial site. Subject to guide availability, so book ahead.
