Overview

About Hoanib Valley Camp

Hoanib Valley Camp sits in a sheltered valley in Namibia’s Sesfontein Community Conservancy, with rocky mountains around it and the Hoanib River nearby. Its five twin tents and one family tent have private verandas, en-suite bathrooms and indoor showers. Days centre on drives in search of desert-adapted elephants, giraffes and black rhino, alongside guided walks and visits to local Himba and Herero communities. Back at camp, there is a swimming pool, a library and outdoor dining. Solar power and a community partnership underpin this small desert base, which welcomes children of all ages.

“A small desert camp for travellers drawn to wild landscapes and the animals that survive in them. Six tents, guided drives and a family tent make it an appealing base for couples and families exploring Kaokoland.”
