Overview
Ol Gaboli Lodge has five thatched bandas beside the Ewaso Nyiro River in Laikipia. Each has a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom and private veranda, with meals and time together centred on the thatched Mess and its riverside stone deck. The Ilmotiok Women's Group owns the lodge, and its community partnership directs funds towards local projects. Full-board stays include guided walks, while the surrounding safari area supports elephants, leopards, wild dogs and Grevy's zebra. Children of all ages are welcome, and an extra single bed can be added to a banda for families or groups.
“Five riverside bandas keep the scale personal, while the community ownership and local guides give this stay a strong sense of place. A good fit for families and travellers who enjoy walking as well as wildlife watching.”
