Overview
Old Mondoro sits beneath winterthorn trees beside the Zambezi in Lower Zambezi National Park. Its reed chalets have canvas roofs, private decks and outdoor baths, keeping the river and woodland close throughout the day. Elephants regularly pass through the unfenced camp, while the shared lounge and dining area look across the water. Days combine game drives, night drives, guided walks, boating and catch-and-release fishing. Five regular chalets are joined by a two-bedroom family suite available on request. Children aged 12 and over are welcome, with an adult sharing overnight. Meals, drinks, safari activities and laundry are included.
“A small, unfenced camp for travellers who want wildlife close at hand, with private decks, outdoor baths and a choice of land and river safaris.”
Known for
Leopard viewing and elephants moving through camp bring the Lower Zambezi wildlife experience close to the chalets.
