Boat safaris

A boat safari explores rivers, lagoons and floodplains by boat, pontoon or barge. It is a different way to view wildlife from a game drive, with guides travelling along waterways where animals come to drink, feed or cross. Depending on the destination, guests may see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffalo, waterbirds and smaller wetland species from the water. Experiences range from daytime wildlife viewing to sundowner cruises. They are offered in several African environments, including Botswana's Okavango and Linyanti waterways, the Chobe and Zambezi river systems, Namibia's Kunene River and Rwanda's Lake Rwanyakazinga. Water levels and local conditions determine where boats can operate and what route is used.
