Overview

About San Camp

San Camp places seven white-canvas tents on the edge of Nwetwe Pan in Botswana’s Makgadikgadi. Four-poster beds, patterned rugs and shaded verandas give the twin and double tents a distinctive old-style safari feel, while a connected family tent welcomes parents and children. Days combine desert game drives, meerkat encounters and quad biking when the pans are dry. Back at camp, communal meals, the tea tent and a tented pool pavilion keep the salt-pan setting in view. Solar power runs the camp, which opens from 1 April to 15 October.

“A distinctive choice for travellers who want a desert counterpoint to a Delta safari, with meerkat encounters, white-canvas tents and communal dining beside the salt pans.”
