Overview
About Satyagraha House
Satyagraha House is a historic guesthouse and museum in the Orchards neighbourhood of Johannesburg, South Africa, occupying the very house where Mohandas Gandhi resided over a century ago. Its seven rooms, all opening onto the garden, are distributed between the original historic house (dating to Gandhi's 1908 stay), a cottage added in 1920, and a newer wing. The property offers guests a singular opportunity to immerse themselves in the history of Gandhi and South Africa, while the surrounding Johannesburg area provides ready access to museums, restaurants, and other attractions.
