Overview
Tsowa Safari Island sits beneath riverine trees on an island in the Zambezi National Park, upstream from Victoria Falls. Its nine safari tents face the river, with private verandahs or decks and indoor and outdoor showers. Days combine game drives and guided walks with canoeing and sunset cruises, while two swimming pools and a riverside lounge provide space to slow down. Meals, selected house drinks and basic laundry are included. The boat crossing gives arrival a sense of separation from the mainland, making this a good choice for couples and birdwatchers who want both land and river experiences.
“Choose Tsowa for the mix of river life and mainland safaris: tented rooms under trees, canoeing and sunset cruises, with Victoria Falls within reach. It particularly suits couples and birdwatchers.”
Known for
Elephants and hippos visit the island, which is also home to a breeding pair of Pel's fishing owls.
