Overview

About Jacana Camp

Jacana Camp sits on a small island in the Jao Reserve, surrounded by the Okavango Delta’s seasonal floodplains and papyrus channels. Its five en-suite tents have outdoor showers and private wooden decks overlooking the water. Days combine game drives and guided walks with boating, fishing and mokoro outings as seasonal conditions allow. Birdlife is a particular draw, with African jacana, slaty egret and Pel’s fishing owl among the species found here. Back at camp, a swimming pool, bar and shared dining areas make room for unhurried afternoons and evenings around the fire.

“A five-tent island camp for travellers who enjoy birds and waterways as much as game drives, with private decks and outdoor showers keeping the Delta close.”
