Overview

About Wilderness Damaraland Camp

Wilderness Damaraland Camp looks across the Huab River Valley from a cluster of ten raised, thatched units. Decks open onto rocky desert scenery, while a pool, library and fireside boma offer places to unwind between twice-daily camp activities. Desert-adapted elephants are a central attraction, alongside giraffes, mountain zebras and antelope. The camp is a joint venture with the Torra Conservancy, with revenue supporting community development and infrastructure. Families have a two-bedroom unit with separate entrances and a shared outdoor deck. The fully inclusive stay covers meals, local drinks, park fees and laundry.

“A rewarding choice for travellers drawn to desert wildlife and community-based conservation, with wide-open scenery and a two-bedroom unit for families.”
